Please Note:We at Good Neighbor Village regularly and strongly advocate the use of "people first language." We feel that this is the best way to describe our residents who have special abilities. In our source code, however, you may see terms such as "mentally retarded," "cognitively disabled," "intellectually disabled," "cognitively impaired" or "handicapped." We use these terms not to be insensitive, but to simply attract the broadest spectrum of visitors to our web site.
News and Events
Elizabeth Noftsinger
Executive Director
Good Neighbor Village
Welcomes New
Executive Director.
Recently, GNV welcomed its newest addition to the family. Elizabeth "Liz" Noftsinger was brought on to serve as Executive Director. She will be working closely with the residents and their families, the board of directors, and the public in general, to help further the mission of GNV. Elizabeth brings with her an enthusiasm that comes from years of experience with those who have special needs. As part of her role with GNV, she will also be working with friends in the community, partner organizations and our generous donors. Elizabeth will be managing the administrative side of GNV as she works in tandem with Glenn Davis who continues to do a wonderful job of managing the operations of GNV. Whether you are a family member of a resident, one of our friends or donors, or some other part of the extended family of GNV, please take the opportunity to welcome Elizabeth to GNV.
Development Campaign
"As has been mentioned in the recent past, GNV has developed a new development campaign. As GNV does not charge residents the full cost of providing a home for each resident, we must rely on the generous support of corporate and private, individual donors within the community. If you are included on our mailing list, you will likely be receiving correspondence in the near future which will outline this campaign and will ask for your support. We ask that you give consideration to GNV as an organization worthy of your continued support. If you have any questions about the campaign, or would like to discuss its details, please contact our development committee chairman, Mike Thompson, at 804-874-6453 or at Mike Thompson
