Fees & FinancingResidential costs and personal spending

One of the most common questions we receive from families of potential residents is: How is this paid for?

Similar to any full-time housing options, we require monthly resident housing and living payments. To promote independence and ensure residents have everything they need, we also set up private spending funds for each resident. Families, guardians and residents are responsible for supporting the personal spending fund.

While we cannot offer financial assistance at this time, we do accept Auxiliary Grants. We require all residents to have medical insurance. The residents or their families are responsible for medical and dental costs, including medications not otherwise covered by insurance. Requests for medical records, psychological reports and confidential financial information are part of the application packet.

After you have completed the application process and the resident has been approved to move into Good Neighbor Village, monthly payments will be due on the 1st of the month. The first payment will be due the day the resident moves in.

Residents are responsible for their own spending money. We work with residents' families to oversee and update spending accounts for personal purchases such as outings, having snacks and drinks at the house, toiletries, etc.

The finances of residents who do not have an Auxiliary Grant are handled by our Administrator and Treasurer. Residents and families will be provided with detailed information regarding the resident's money at any given time.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do we accept Medicaid waivers?

Currently, we do not accept Medicaid waivers, but we can accept private pay or Auxiliary Grants.

Are there any scholarships or grants we can apply for?

You can apply for an Auxiliary Grant through the DSS of the county in which the resident currently resides.

What happens if a resident moves in but isn't a good fit?

When a new resident moves in, we allow for a 60-day probationary period to ensure it is a good fit for everyone. If, during this probationary period, it is determined by the resident, the resident's family/guardian or Good Neighbor Village staff that it is not a good fit, a prorated amount will be refunded.

How can I set up a payment plan with Good Neighbor Village?

Payment plans will be discussed during the application and approval period. Please get in touch with us directly if you have questions about your payment plan.
