There are always exciting events and parties happening at Good Neighbor Village. Whether crafting art projects, tossing around the frisbee, kicking back to a movie, or indulging in mouth-watering pizza, our residents constantly get involved and stay busy in the community. The year's first quarter proved to be quite an exciting, eventful time for the community. This year, everyone looks forward to Fridays, and for good reason.
Good Neighbor Village has recently implemented a fun-filled recurring event known as "First Friday Pizza Night," where friendships grow. On the first Friday of each month, community members have the chance to participate in various fun games and activities, from puzzles and brain teasers to team games and Bingo. The entertaining evening comes to a finale with a movie and snacks, including popcorn and hot cocoa, perfect for those chilly days. Occasionally, community members take a stroll down the street to Henrico Theater for a classic dollar movie.
Saturdays are another bustling day for Good Neighbor Village members. When the weather permits, frisbees and footballs are up in the air, and a carefully calculated game of cornhole is unfolding on the greenery. To complement the outdoor time, community members love indulging in old-fashioned S'mores over the campfire. Many members also seize an opportunity to socialize and go out for lunch in town.
The beginning of this year also marks birthdays for many, including Larry, Nurse Maria, Miss Sandy, Ricky, Connor, Jarrod, Kathryn, and Becky. Good Neighbor Village would like to personally wish a "Happy Birthday" to all who celebrated between January and March. In honor of the first-quarter birthdays, the community is hosting a huge Birthday Bash this month.
Recently, members have had fun celebrating the other holidays in between. The New Year's Eve and Valentine's Day parties were huge hits, encouraging many community members to get out and mingle. Family members and local supporters joined the fun festivities, reveling in dancing and delicious foods.
As the community looks forward to warmer weather and springtime, plans to carry out the Annual BBQ are in order. The Annual BBQ is perhaps one of the biggest events of the year. The block-party style event has historically attracted countless local businesses, residents, families, staff, and board of director members. The BBQ is an excellent chance for residents' families to meet their friends and connect with the Good Neighbor Village team. Be sure to stay tuned this spring for announcements regarding the Annual BBQ, as this is one party you won't want to miss!
